On The Day
Make sure that you have all your equipment
ready the night before the race meeting.
Make sure your 12v leisure battery is at it's full capacity so it is
ready to charge your batteries trackside on race day. It is also
important to ensure that your transmitter has enough power. We
strongly recommend using rechargeable batteries, giving them a full
charge for each race; in the long term this will save you money,
transmitters use up alkaline batteries very quickly.
Arrive with plenty of time so you are not rushed. Booking in closes
at around 09:15am - so turning up at 9:00 should be ideal. At each
meeting you must see the race director once booking in has started.
The first time he will need to know your name, the class that you
wish to race in, an estimate of your ability (don't worry about
this) and the radio frequencies that you have. The race software
will remember these details for future meetings but always keep your
crystal information up to date.
At Yateley everyone in each class races three qualifying heats and
one or two finals depending on the season. In the heats you race
against the clock, the three results are used to work out the grid
positions for the final. In both the qualifiers and the final you
must try to get as many complete laps as you can in five minutes.
The race director will put the heat listings on the board once
everyone has booked in this contains all the information about the
races. Check what heat you are in and the crystal that you must use.
During the race prior to yours collect the correct colour & number
transponder that you have been allocated and fix it on the body
shell of you car. If you have a personal transponder then please let
the race director know.
Place your car on the start grid and await the starters orders!
In the heats you must start when your number is called, all drivers
start on the same line.
In the final everyone starts in their respective qualifying grid
positions. Racing starts on the sound of the "warble"!
Good luck!
